Obituary for Nancy Louise Miller

Nancy Louise Butcher Miller, age 71 years, a resident of Elkins, WV departed this life Thursday evening, July 5, 2018 at her home surrounded by her loving family and under the care of Mountain Hospice. She had been in declining health.
The second of four daughters, she was born Sunday, August 4, 1946 at Elkins, WV to the late Willis Lyle and Bernice Lee Butcher. Nancy was a graduate of Elkins High School with the Class of 1965, where she was active in the marching band and served as a majorette. Preceding her in death was her husband Wesley Herman “Wes” Miller. She retired from United Health Care Center at Bridgeport and was a Methodist by faith.
Surviving are her son, Mark Howell; daughters, Stacy Wilson and husband Phil, and Hillary Howell, all of Elkins; five grandchildren, Alexandra “Alex” Howell, Shelby Howell, Alyssa Tallman and husband Josh, Zachary Fehrenbach, and Tyler Fehrenbach; three great grandchildren, Addison “Addie” Fehrenbach, Jason Tallman, and Emily Tallman; three sisters, Barbara Mahoney and husband Larry of Beverly, Glenna Butcher and husband Glenn “Buddy” of Beverly, and Lana England and husband Randy of Elkins; several nieces and nephews; and her uncle, Herman Butcher of Green Bank.
Nancy was a selfless lady who cared deeply for her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She fought a courageous battle with a terminal disease knowing the ultimate outcome. She will be remembered as such a beautiful lady and for her love of her family.
The family wishes to express the most sincere gratitude to her caregivers through Mountain Hospice. They provided personal care and comfort to Nancy and guidance and support to her family.
The family will receive friends at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Elkins from 1 to 2 PM, Tuesday. Final Rites will be conducted at the funeral home, Tuesday, July 10, 2018 at 2 PM. Pastor Bryan Headley will officiate and a Private Graveside Service will follow at the Mount Vernon Cemetery at Beverly, WV. The family suggests that expressions of sympathy be in the form of contributions to Mountain Hospice, 1002 Crim Avenue, Belington, WV 26250, the Tygart Valley Homestead Community Center, P. O. Box 115, Dailey, WV 26259 or Pulmonary Fibrosis Research Foundation, 230 East Ohio Street, Suite # 500, Chicago, IL 60611.
