Obituary for David Allen McCauley

David Allen McCauley, age 73 years, a resident of the Burnt Bridge Road in the Kedron community of Upshur County passed from this life Monday morning, July 23, 2018 at Colonial Place at Elkins, WV with his loving wife at his side, following a valiant battle with cancer.
He was born Wednesday, November 29, 1944 in Clarksburg, WV to the late Carlton F. McCauley and Helen Phares McCauley of Elkins. David graduated from Bridgeport High School in 1962 and attended WVU. David proudly served as a Radio Intercept Analysis Specialist with the US Air Force for over three years. Upon returning home he married Joetta “Jody” Marie Reynolds on April 4, 1970 at the Bridgeport Presbyterian Church. Dave worked for the B & O Railroad and later the CSX Railroad as a Signal Repair Specialist for thirty-six years.
David remained a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the NRA.
David was an avid outdoorsman. He was known for his expertise hunting both deer and turkey. One of his favorite pastimes was cutting wood not only for himself but also for his neighbors. He was most at home in the mountains of West Virginia.
David was preceded in death by his father and one brother, Barry McCauley of Elkins. He is survived by his wife and mother along with several special nieces, nephews, family and friends.
David’s request for cremation was honored. A Celebration of David’s Life will be held at the Woodford Memorial United Methodist Church in Elkins on Tuesday, July 31, 2018 from 4 to 6 PM.
