Obituary for Virginia Ellen Rhodes Simmons

Virginia Ellen Rhodes Simmons, age 56 years, a resident of Glady, WV departed this life Tuesday evening, February 20, 2018 at her home. Death was unexpected.
She was born Sunday, March 12, 1961 at Elkins, WV a daughter of the late Roy Lee Rhodes and Retha Ellen Strawder Rhodes who survives at Glady. On August 7, 1988 at Glady, WV she was married to Dewey Hunter Simmons who preceded her in death February 9, 2014. Surviving are two daughters, Christina Louise McCormick of Moatsville, Kimberly Marie Tincher of Circleville; one brother, Donald Steven Rhodes and wife Cynthia Faye of Junior; two sisters, Crystal Dawn Rhodes of Jacksonville, NC, Sandra Louise Giacobe of Beverly; and two grandsons.
Preceding her in death are one brother, Gary Lee Rhodes.
Virginia attended Elkins High School and attended the Glady Brethren Church. She was a collector of owls and enjoyed making things with plastic canvas, flowers and fishing.
Virginia’s request for cremation was honored. A Memorial Service will be held at 3 PM, Saturday, July 21, 2018 at the Glady Church of the Brethren at Glady, WV. Inurnment will follow at the Rhodes Family Cemetery at Glady, WV.
